In Episode 19 of Let’s Talk Wellness Now, Dr. Deb invites, Sherrie Palm, Founder of APOPS, back to the podcast to talk about sex after pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and what they can expect after they go through after surgery.
The impact to intimacy – it kind of comes in waves, and hits different layers. For the women, it’s a matter of having pain with intercourse… either that… or the embarrassment of having tissues bulging out of your vagina.
Dr. Deb and Sherrie share tips and resources to help smooth the transition back to sex, ways to increase confidence, and the value of communication with your partner as you work through recovery and potential discomfort.
I encourage them to think of other ways to be intimate – it doesn’t just have to be intercourse. Intercourse is just one of a multitude of ways to be intimate with you partner.
